From Print to Digital Books

Print and DigitalThe written word from print to electronic format has great environmental benefits and clearly expresses the technological advancement of our age. However, the book as a tangible object has an undeniably profound impact on avid readers; the smell, the feel and even the look of a book can affect a reader. Books transform the process of reading into a meaningful and rewarding process that can resonate with you throughout your life.

Though I will always support the print format of a book, I believe a compromise should be made so that the carbon footprint of publishing is reduced. Ebooks are one way of doing so and I think we are on the cusp of a changing publishing environment; whereby more and more of the next generation will be willing to engage with the digital format of books.
